Guy EL Helou, M.D., M.S., finished his infectious disease fellowship at Wake Forest University, NC, and he pursued a subspecialty training in Transplant and Immunocompromised Host infections at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Following that, he took an assistant professor position at the University of Florida where he worked for 5 years as Medical Director of Transplant Infectious Disease, where he took care of patients was engaged in protocol development and review as pertaining to the pre- and post-transplant care.
Dr. Helou is a graduate of the Florida Medical Association Leadership Academy, graduate of the University of Florida leadership class. He has received the exemplary teacher award in 2023 from the University of Florida. He has also received numerous awards throughout his fellowships, completed a global health program.
Dr. Helou also possesses a master’s in science from the medical school he graduated from, Université Saint Joseph, Beirut, Lebanon.
