Luis Perez-Mena earned his M.D. from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center/Mt. Sinai Brooklyn, then returned to his home state of Florida to complete a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Florida. Since then, he has been working as a general infectious disease consultant in private practice in the hospital as well as clinic. He has experience managing complex infections in HIV and other immunocompromised hosts and has a special interest in hard-to-treat mycobacterial infections and antimicrobial stewardship.

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new restaurants and activities around Orlando with his family and relaxing at home with his cats
